INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) room temperature butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg + 1 yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons matcha tea powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2-3 drops green food coloring (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 3-5 minutes.

Add whole egg and egg yolk. Mix to incorporate then stir in vanilla.

Sift together flour, matcha, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to mixer and mix until just combined.

If a vibrant green hue is desired, add food coloring at this point to desired color.

Remove from mixer and stir in white chocolate chips.

Using a cookie scoop, place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are just set and slightly golden.

Remove from oven and let cool on baking pan for 5 minutes. Then remove to cooling rack.

  1. Based on my experience real matcha powder is dark green. Lighter green or usually yellowish green "matcha" is actually just green tea powder. If you used the real matcha powder i think we don't need coloring at all.

  2. it looks so delicious…. i want to make these for my co-workers!! Do you know how many cookies does that one mix make?

  3. Hi Kaleb
I must say these are amazingly delicious.
I tried them for the first time.
They are prefect, just need a minor change because I am from south west asia. I added two whole eggs, increased the baking time to (150 degree) for about 10 to 12 minutes they came out perfectly well.

Thank you for sharing such an amazing recipe and keep posting more.

  4. Mmm.. The best match cookies recipe videos.. It's just funny that he does the talking not while baking makes me think if he's really the one in the demo video…

  5. My friends and i really love the cookies! thank you so much
i follow the recipe but my matcha cookies were bit too sweet ._. maybe I have to add less amount of sugar

  6. Excellent recipe! Though I had never tried matcha before, the cookies came out great and were delicious. Plus, I love white chocolate. I never measure my vanilla either. I also think a little extra vanilla never hurts a recipe. I love your videos because they speak to you. Many cooking and baking videos just throw a recipe at you. Nice!

  7. I have so many screen capture of your recipes on my phone. I got the new idea a lot from you.And i am your big fan ~???✨ Thank you very much for all video uploaded. Sending hugs from Thailand~????

  8. Great! Finally a recipe that has an ingredient easy to get here in Japan, ma cha. It is literally everywhere. Try ma cha Kit Kats. Thanks for the recipe.

  9. That's such a low quality matcha powder.. It should be a deep vibrant green.. But I love the recipe so much! I made these last week and just the matcha powder made them a leafy green πŸ™‚
